What is IOT?


                            IOT is a network of the physical devices, sensors, software that are connected to the internet to exchange the information (i.e.) sending and receiving the information with each other over the internet. The IOT has evolved a tremendous growth in past 5 years.


How does IOT works?     
                              
                      Let us have a simple example in the real life. Most of us uses the smartphone in which we have many apps to work with it. When we have an air conditioner (AC) in our house, instead of searching for remote every time for changing the temperature we can use an app to do that work in an easy way. The mechanism behind it is, the AC is connected to a same Wi-Fi network with the smartphone and then both are interconnected, so it is possible.


Applications of IOT

1.  Smart home

                          When most of the home Appliances are connected to an internet and can be controlled by a remove device are called smart home .Nowadays the smart home have evolved as an excellent feature in developing the home infrastructure.
E.g:- smart TV, smart Door lock, etc.




2.Retail Shops
                        Smart retail is a term used to describe a set of smart technologies that are designed to give the consumer the greater,faster,safer and smarter experience when shopping.
Eg: - Consider we are in our home,we need some groceries to 
buy from departmental store.Instead of visiting to the departmental store we can use an app to buy and products and the computer will automatically packs all the products in the box and it will pass it to the delivery man with the receipt to deliver the product.






3.  Smart Car

                           The Smart car in the well-known IOT device in which we are all using in our date today life.it will help us to identify the traffic in the city, it will report the mileage and the fuel details, etc.


4.  Farming

                            The smart farming helps us to find the status of the crop and maintaining with the help of the sensors for the temperature, light, humidity, etc. And it also helps the farmers to control the irrigation systems.


5.  Meteorological department

                              IOT enabled weather sensor will help the people to get the weather report every now and then .it will also warn the people about the heavy rainfall, flood with the automated messaging system.
  


6.  Healthcare
 
                              Wearable are very much used in the healthcare. Let us consider we are wearing a smart watch, it keeps on tracking the heart rate, oxygen level, etc. When any sudden change in the stats it will automatically send the reports to the mobile and the mobile automatically send the reports to the emergency contacts that are added in the mobile.


Scenario for advantages and disadvantages

                                  Let us consider a person who is in the hurry to the office, he has forgotten to turn off the all the appliances in the house, he need to turn it off. Again he need to return to the house and turning off is not possible at all so with help of IOT we can turning it off with an app.

From the above scenario we can find the advantages
Of IOT

1.   Saves times
2.   Minimize human effort
3.   Made communication easier
4.   Saves money (the fuel charges+ extra life of the appliances)

Disadvantage of IOT

1.   Security  (it have an cyber security issues)
2.   Dependent on internet
3.   Complexity(if any changes in the program it will leads to big complex problems).
